this is my first time posting me, so I hope I'm not doing anything wrong.

U.S.S Axion Main Website
Available Positions/Crew Manifest
U.S.S Axion, of the Federation's 1st Fleet
Welcome aboard the U.S.S Axion, NX-05. An NX-class vessel equipped with phaser arrays, photon torpedos and deflector shields, the U.S.S Axion is ready and willing to battle. A tough ship with a good crew, the Axion is dedicated to the service and protection of the Federation. The Axion is also devoted to exploration and discovery, upholding the very principals and ideals of the Federation itself in every mission it undergoes.
The U.S.S Axion is an Enterprise-era based simm, so if you want to explore the very first frontier this is the place to do it. The Axion is an indy simm, meaning we have full control over our own rules as opposed to the rules of a fleet.
The Axion needs players who are open-minded, keen, excited about Star Trek and about roleplay. This simm is highly individualized to each player, who is considered a valued and important member of our family. We trust one another with our lives In-Character, and our friendship Out-of-Character. The Axion is a new simm, with highly exciting positions available today!
-Chief Helm Officer
-Chief Medical Officer
-Chief Science Officer
-MACO Executive Officer
-Chief Armory Officer
-Judge Advocate General
-Chief Communications Officer
-Task Force Fleet Tactician
Note: You must be at least 18 years of age or older to join this roleplay.

I don't even know how many of you people still might be fans...but I was curious, so I'm giving it a go. (And crossposted to at least one other comm, so sorry if you get a little spammed.)
For those of you who read the novels, I have to ask: what's canon to you? Is "These Are the Voyages..." canon, the way we see it? Or do you go with authors Michael A. Martin and Andy Mangels and their expansion upon the events set forth in that episode, which is now leading us into the Earth-Romulan War?
I ask this because I was finally able to pick up Kobayashi Maru
, and I also RP a little Ent here and there but try to avoid the sticky issue of which to go by. In most cases, I would stick by pure tv canon. But...let's face it, the finale sucked, and the books are just awesome. I haven't even finished it, but I'm already looking forward to The Romulan War
next year...(except it's only Martin, not Martin and Mangels--I'll be interested to see if the style changes at all).

Thought on Reed
I am watching the cycle of reruns on SciFi, and I just thought of something tonight while reading multiple wikis and LJ:
Reed said he was an Eagle Scout like Archer, but aren't the Eagle Scouts a part of Boy Scouts of America? How did the British Reed participate in an American Scouting program (and garner 2 more badges than the Cap'n)?
p.s. I'm a newbie to this comm, so hello everyone! *waves* Current Mood: contemplative

This may sound stupid, but I just got into Enterprise, so forgive any stupidity. A few websites list an episode called "Debugging Entry," but it doesn't seem to be on IMDb. Was this an episode that was never filmed?

Going to Vegas
Is anyone here going to the Star Trek 40th anniversary convention at the Las Vegas Hilton the weekend of the 19th?

Still Miss it.
Been watching my video tapes for the past couple weeks. Fortunately, I recorded every episode. Definitely, my favorite Star Trek series.

Captain Archer reminded me of....
.... George W. Bush. Does anyone else see this and understand why
he'd bring to mind the president of the United States of America?

Michael Piller is dead
-- Michael Piller, "Star Trek" veteran and co-creator/executive producer of USA Network's hit series "The Dead Zone," died early Tuesday at his Los Angeles home after a long battle with cancer. He was 57.
Before co-creating "The Dead Zone" with his son Shawn, Piller was head writer on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," leading the show to a best drama Emmy nomination in 1994, the first for a syndicated series.
He went on to co-create the following two "Trek" installments, "Deep Space Nine" and "Voyager." Both series ran for seven seasons.
In 1998, Piller wrote and co-produced "Star Trek: Insurrection," the ninth installment in Paramount Pictures' successful Star Trek feature franchise. Current Mood: shocked
